Richena earned her Bachelors degree in photography from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She’s the owner of Lioness Photography and was the first recipient of the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater’s photography fellowship.
Richena has worked with various organizations such as The New Pittsburgh Courier, Dollar Bank and New Horizon Theater as a media photographer and social media manager. She has served as an instructor at the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation’s “Still Feel Like Going On” instructional photography workshop for African American male youth, and for the past 12 years as the photography instructor for the Frank Bolden Urban Journalism Workshop. She has exhibited at The Shadow Lounge and with Women of Vision at Penn State University. Richena’s solo exhibit, ‘Superhero Within Me’, in conjunction with Toonseum’s Heroes Block Party, presents a glimpse of her artistic observations, offering a unique perspective on life and entertainment.
